New Covid business grants available - don’t miss out
New Covid business grants are now available to those businesses that were previously unable to apply for funds.
Phase four of the Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG) scheme in Bexley will be open for applications from this week until 5pm on Friday 18 June 2021.
The changes will see additional support for home-based self-employed people, top-up grants for those non-ratepaying businesses which were forced to close and for those still affected by Covid social distancing and travel restrictions.
A new one-off grant of £3,500 is now available for self-employed people that haven’t been eligible before. Changes to the process mean that those applying for the grant could now be eligible even if they receive the Self Employment Income Support Scheme (SEISS).
Bexley have also introduced two new categories of grant for sectors that continue to lose income due to the ongoing social distancing rules and travel restrictions. The new categories apply to licensed restaurants and cafes and the travel trade and events industry.
Non-ratepaying businesses occupying commercial premises can also now receive a top-up ‘ARG Restart’ payment if they are in the following sectors:
sports and personal care
Any business that has already applied for any of the ARG categories before and has been paid previously will not need to apply again – we will contact them to advise them of any additional payments.
All of these ARG grants are non-repayable.
ARG grants will be awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Before applying, first check whether you may be eligible for any of the ARG grants, and also the government’s Restart Grant, by using our Business grant eligibility checker.
For more information about ARG grants, visit the Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG) page for full guidance.
As per government guidance, all applications will be subject to due diligence checks to reduce the risk of fraud.
As part of the application process, applicants will be asked to upload a range of documentary evidence to support their claim. Those eligible applicants providing all the required evidence with their application will be processed and paid without delay.
Support for businesses
The Government have produced a financial support page to help businesses find out how to access the support that has been made available, who is eligible, when the schemes open and how to apply.
